Meet Dr. Gilbert 
Dr. David B. Gilbert received his Doctor of Medical
Dentistry degree from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, in 1983
and was awarded his Orthodontic Certificate in 1994 from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Gilbert is a Diplomate
certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Gilbert served for 8 years in the US Army as a Dental Officer. He was
stationed both in the U.S. and in Germany and achieved the rank of Major. He
has also published articles in the International Journal of Adult Orthodontics
and Orthognathic Surgery. Dr. Gilbert, a Diplomate of the
American Board of Orthodontics, is also a member of the American
Association of Orthodontists, the Southern
Association of Orthodontists, the North Carolina
Orthodontic Association and the American Dental Association. He has been recognized as a Lifetime Member of the UNC Dental
Alumni Association.
A resident of North Carolina since 1991, Dr. Gilbert is an avid gardener, a
dedicated chess player and, since 1992, has enjoyed the challenge of sport
climbing - scaling bare rock faces such as his favorite climb, the New River
Gorge in West Virginia.
When he is not working at his offices in Raleigh and Durham, Dr. Gilbert, his
wife, Linda, and their two sons enjoy the many family activities they share at
"Gilbert Farms" which is also home to their horses,
miniature donkeys, dogs and cats.
